Christmas night fire damages 3 homes in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - December 25, 2013

The fire broke out around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday on a home on the 2500 block of South Percy Street and spread to two others.

Firefighters report all residents were able to make it out of the two story home.

By 8:15 p.m., reports indicated two homes were fully involved in flames.

The fire was placed under control at 8:34 p.m

One home is heavily damaged while the two others sustained damage.

The Red Cross says they are assisting 10 people (8 adults, 2 children) affected by the fire.

Victor Fiore has lived two doors away for 30 years.

Fiore and his son-in-law Dan Davis were only a few blocks away, but got a text from neighbors about the fire.

They are now praying for the families affected.

"It's got to be the worst feeling. Your heart just drops. It's horrible. Thank God everyone's ok," Davis of West Deptford said.

There is no word on a cause.
