Worker held at knifepoint in Lawndale 7-Eleven robbery

From Philadelphia Police: The Philadelphia Police Department's Northeast Detectives Division is looking to identify the suspect who robbed a 7-Eleven in Lawndale. On January 1, 2014, at 2:38 pm, police responded to a robbery at a 7-Eleven located at 5800 Rising Sun Avenue. When police Arrived an employee who was working reported that an unknown male, who was armed with a knife, entered the store and walked behind the counter placing the knife to the employees back forcing her to open the cash registers. After taking an unknown amount of cash the suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen west on the 400 block of Cheltenham Avenue. Suspect Description: White male, 20 years-of-age, thin build, wearing gray sweatpants, white hooded sweatshirt, mask covering his face and armed with a large knife. Philadelphia police are looking for the man who held a clerk at knifepoint during the robbery of a 7-Eleven store in Lawndale.

The robbery happened at 2:38 a.m. on January 1st at the store located at 5800 Rising Sun Avenue.

Surveillance video released by police shows the suspect walking behind the counter and putting the knife to the worker's back.

That employee then opens the cash register, handing over the money to the suspect, who then flees on foot.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 20 years old with a thin build. He was wearing gray sweat pants, a white hooded sweatshirt, a mask over his face and was armed with a large knife.
