3 suspects identified in Center City pickpocket thefts

CENTER CITY - January 30, 2014

The suspects are identified as:

-Timothy Mosley, who has several possible addresses: the 400 block of Sharon Avenue in Sharon Hill, Pa.; the 1200 block of South 53rd Street, the 20 block of North 62nd Street, and the 1200 block of South 53rd Street in Philadelphia.

-James Black, who is known to drive a 2-door, tan 1990 Cadillac Deville Coupe with PA license plate JHY-8788. His last known address is the 500 block of North 50th Street.

-Renza Sheaff, also known as Tina Hainey, Robin Davis among other aliases, has previously lived in the 2600 block of South 80th Street and the 20 block of North 62nd Street.

The trio first came to the public's attention after a pickpocket theft was caught on camera at the Rice-and-Mix restaurant at 1207 Walnut Street on January 10th.

Police say Mosley is the man seen sitting down directly behind the victim and using his jacket to cover her purse, which was hanging on the back of the chair.

The man then takes a wallet from the purse, gets up and walks away.

Meanwhile, police say, two accomplices - now identified as Black and Sheaff -were busy distracting the clerk.

All three meet up and have a brief conversation before leaving.

Police say one or all three suspects have been connected to the following crimes:

-On November 23rd, at 7:10 p.m., a woman said she was in the Rouge Gallery, at 11 South 21st Street, when someone stole her wallet from her purse. The victim's credit cards were later used to make more than $1,000 purchases at the Home Depot at 24th and Oregon. Police say Mosley was seen on surveillance video obtained from the Home Depot with a second unidentified man.

-On September 20th, at 11:40 a.m., a woman said someone stole the wallet out of her purse inside the Metropolitan Diner at 264 South 19th Street. Police say surveillance video showed Mosley, Black and Sheaff. Police say the trio then went to the same Home Depot to buy $1,500 in gift cards.

-On May 23rd, at 2:00 p.m., a woman told police somone stole her wallet from her purse while it was hanging on the back of her chair. Her credit cards were later used at a Rite-Aid at 17th and Chestnut along with a Lowe's store. Police say surveillance video from both the Rite Aid and Lowe's showed Mosley and Sheaff.

-On May 3rd at 5:15 p.m., a woman told police her wallet was stolen out of her purse, which was hanging on the back of her chair, at the Starbuck's at 1500 Market Street. Her credit cards were later used at the Marshall's store at 1044 Market Street where more than $2,500 in purchases were made. Police say surveillance video showed Mosley, Black and Sheaff in the store.
