Investigators say the body was spotted by a helicopter pilot flying near the Wheelabrator solid waste disposal property on January 15th.
Police say the body is that of a white woman anywhere between 30 and 60 years old. She was between 5'5" and 5'7" tall and weighed between 160 and 180 pounds.
She had salt-and-pepper hair that appeared to be dyed brown, police said, and had no scars or tattoos.
Her clothes were described by police as: a black brand-name "Seventy-Seven" hooded, fur-lined jacket, size XL; gray brand-name ENYCE" hooded sweatshirt; blue brand-name "Destiny" denim jacket; blue brand-name "Cellucap" tyvek shirt, similar to hospital attire; blue brand-name "Liz Claiborne" cotton pants, size 14W; New Balance 690 female sneakers, size 9; brown socks with rubber grips, similar to hospital attire.
On Monday, investigators released a photo of a jacket similar to the one she was wearing.
Anyone with information about the woman's identity is asked to contact Det. Anthony Garbarino at the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office at 856-384-5619.
