Attempted luring involving teenage girl in East Camden, N.J.

EAST CAMDEN, N.J. - January 28, 2014

It happened Monday at 12:30 p.m. on North 36th Street near Hayes Avenue.

Investigators say a 17-year-old girl was walking along the street when a white Ford van slowed down and began driving alongside her.

The girl told police the driver motioned for her come closer and said something she couldn't understand.

She ignored him and kept walking.

The van pulled away but returned moments later and the driver again gestured to her.

The girl ignored the van again and the driver left the scene. The van was last seen near 36th Street and River Road.

The driver is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his 40s wearing a red and black sweater and black knit cap

The white Ford van has New Jersey license plates and no back windows. It was filled with trash and a contractor's ladder.
