2 arrested for drive-by robbery pranks

SPRING GARDEN - February 19, 2014

Police say several of these drive-by pranks were recorded and posted on social media.

There were lots of laughs but police didn't see the humor.

They say 19-year-old Courtland Gilliam and his friend, 21-year-old Daron Stinson, pulled what appeared to be a gun on unsuspecting people on Diamond Street in North Philadelphia last week.

The videos were posted on Instagram.

Police now know that the weapon used was a pellet gun.

However the incidents, which happened in the past few weeks, were enough for detectives to charge the men with robbery along with other crimes.

Stinson was arrested earlier in the week and arraigned on Wednesday.

Before he was taken into custody, police say there was video of him on the same Instagram account where the other videos were posted.

Gilliam was taken into custody on Thursday. He's been charged with robbery, simple assault and other crimes.

Police have interviewed the victims in two of the videos and are asking the victims in the other videos to please come forward.
