Delaware skeletal remains ID'd as those of missing man

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - March 1, 2014

The remains were found Friday afternoon by a hiker in a heavily wooded area.

Police say they identified the remains through dental records as those of John Dohms. The former University of Delaware professor had been missing since September of 2012.

Dohms suffered from dementia, and a search for him in the woodlands surrounding White Clay Creek State Park was unsuccessful.

Police say his death is under investigation, and the cause and manner of death are unknown.
