Police locate woman in Wayne rabid raccoon attack

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. - March 3, 2014

It happened at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Police were called to the Wayne Post Office on South Wayne Avenue to investigate reports of a raccoon growling and hissing at passersby.

Witnesses told officers at the scene that the animal knocked a woman to the ground, and the woman left before police arrived.

Radnor Police found the raccoon a short time later on West Wayne Avenue and euthanized it. The animal tested positive for rabies.

Authorities say the woman involved in the incident has been found and advised by the Health Department.
