3 vehicles collide in Brandywine Hundred

Delaware State Police are investigating a serious accident in Brandywine Hundred late Thursday morning.

Police were dispatched at 11:30 a.m. to the intersection of Philadelphia Pike and Bellevue Parkway/Cauffiel Parkway for the report of a three vehicle crash.

Upon their arrival officers discovered two people trapped in the wreckage - one of which was unconscious.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a blue vehicle involved struck another vehicle first at Philadelphia Pike and Harvey Road, and possibly an additional vehicle at Philadelphia Pike and Silverside Road.

Three people were hurt in the accident. A medical helicopter was brought in to transport on of the victims to the hospital.

Police initially stated that one person was killed in the crash, but they have since said that is not the case.
