Two people were injured in a crash involving a box truck and a car carrier on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Chopper 6 was over the scene around 6:30 Monday evening near mile marker 36.

In the southbound lanes of the highway, authorities say a box truck and a car carrier collided.

The box truck overturned and the cab of the car carrier has extensive damage.

Two people were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash, at the time, brought rush hour traffic to a halt. All lanes have since reopened.

No word yet on a cause.
