The fire happened around 1:45 Wednesday afternoon on the 200 block of Charles Street.
Officials originally thought that the victim, identified as 37-year-old Joshua Wilson, had died in the blaze.
An investigation revealed that Wilson was already deceased before the fire began.
No injuries were reported from the actual fire.
Meanwhile Wilson's cause of death has not yet been determined.
Investigators say the fire has been ruled accidental.
