The medical examiner was called out to the One Step Ahead Daycare on the 400 block of Salem Church Road around 6:00 p.m.
The toddler was then transported to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Officials have not commented on a cause of death.
An autopsy has been completed but authorities say the findings are incomplete.
The incident remains under investigation.
