The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of North Mascher and West Thompson Streets.
According to police, two males armed with handguns approached two couples walking home.
They say the robbers demanded money and one of the male victims fought back.
He was shot in the knee during the struggle with the suspects.
Medics took the victim to Temple Hospital for treatment.
The robbers got away with $70 in cash and ID's from the couples, officials say.
Police are searching for the gunmen who fled the scene.
