Firefighters were called out to The Drake apartments located at 1512 Spruce Street around 3:45 a.m. Sunday.
Crews made their way to the 16th floor where they found smoke coming from the kitchen of one of the apartments.
The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters.
Residents of the 16th floor were evacuated to the lobby while crews cleared the smoke from the building.
No injuries were reported and residents were able to return approximately 30 minutes later to their apartments
