Fashion blogger Dallas Shaw says this season is about surprises.
For women, that means fabrics and textures once meant for the dance floor during the day.
"I think there are a lot of amazing trends right now you can work into your regular wardrobe. I personally love metallic and I'm happy they are all over the store," said Dallas.
You don't have to look like a strobe light. This season there are lots of matte looks, like a gold shirt, classy enough for the office. Or go for opalescent jewelry.
Also on trend are sheers, light and pretty over a camisole and vibrant floral are everywhere.
There are ways to work in the bold templates.
Dallas says, "I would say just buy one shirt because for people who are timid, you can pair it with denim. And if you're really nervous, you can work your way up."
For men, the word is relaxed, with looser tailoring in suits, or a surfer vibe with lightweight tops and pegged pants for after hours.
Whatever the feel, navy is the big color.
"Navy and blues, I think a mix of blues we're going to see that today and that also specifically for patterns for men as well," added Dallas.
And for men the surprise is often in the shoes, like cool leather high tops or loafers in mustard suede.
High and low looks mix easily, all warm and light, like a real springtime breeze.
