A former Boy Scout leader has been sentenced to 85 years in state prison for sexually assaulting children in New Jersey.

41-year-old Brian Killion was sentenced in Mays Landing on Thursday.

He's convicted of assaulting five young boys during camping trips and at his home in Absecon.

Some of the victims and their families were in court.

One mother said she only discovered her son was abused after she learned of Killion's arrest from Action News.

"You were the people who ran the story when it first happened with this lady's son. And if it weren't for her, and her son, and you guys, I would have never known. I would have never known that he was abusing my son," she said.

Killion denied all of the accusations and his attorney plans to file an appeal.
