The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. in the 3500 block of North Market Street.
Police say the motorcycle collided with a vehicle, sending the motorcyclist under the vehicle.
The victim was trapped under the vehicle for about 20 minutes before being freed. That person was then taken to Wilmington Hospital where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
There is now word on what led to the crash or if charges will be filed.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
