Car breaks utility pole, backs up traffic on Route 130 in Delran, NJ

A single vehicle accident slowed traffic Monday morning on a busy highway in Burlington County.

It happened at 6:15 a.m. Monday on northbound Route 130 near Taylors Lane in Delran.

Police tell Action News a motorist lost control and slammed into a utility pole, breaking the pole at the base.

Images from Chopper 6 HD over the scene showed a red sedan lying on its side in front of the Golden Corral restaurant.

There was no immediate word on the driver's condition or what caused that person to lose control.

Traffic was backed up in the area for hours as utility crews headed to the scene to begin repairs to the damaged pole.
