Former Hammonton high school band director charged with sex assault of student turns self in

HAMMONTON, N.J. - May 5, 2014

26-year-old Jason Koenig of Hammonton turned himself in to authorities on Monday. He's currently being held on $200,000 bail.

Koenig has been charged with Official Misconduct, Sexual Assault, Criminal Sexual Contact, and Endangering the Welfare of Children.

Authorities say Koenig committed the crimes against a 16-year-old student while being employed by Hammonton High School as an aide and marching band director in November and December of 2013.

He resigned as band director of the high school a week before the charges were filed.
