It happened at 9 Penn Center on the 1700 block of Market Street in Center City late Saturday night.
Police say it was just before midnight when students of Bryn Mawr's Shipley School left the Pyramid Club on the 52nd floor and got into an elevator.
That elevator then got stuck between the 32nd and 31st floors.
An elevator repair crew was called in to free the students. They were trapped over an hour.
There were no injuries.
