Source of smoke sought in Independence Hall

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a mysterious cloud of smoke inside Independence Hall on Sunday morning.

A fire alarm at the historic site went off at about 5:30 a.m.

Philadelphia firefighters responded to find some light smoke in the building.

That smoke quickly cleared.

After searching the building for about 30 minutes, firefighters deemed the structure safe.

However, they were not able to find the source of the smoke.

Firefighters and park rangers continue to investigate.
