Car dealership worker alerts 3 young brothers of Toms River fire

An employee of a Toms River, New Jersey car dealership quickly sprang into action when she saw a house fire.

Officials say Suzanne Reynolds was working at the Pine Belt Cadillac dealership on Route 37 East shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday when she noticed smoke coming from a home on nearby North Gateway Drive.

The Toms River Police Department says "despite not having any protective gear or breathing apparatus, Reynolds selflessly and heroically entered the home."

Police say she located three brothers, ages 12, 10, and 8, on the first floor and alerted them there was a fire in the house. She helped them escape along with the family dog.

Arriving emergency responders observed flames and smoke from the laundry room, where firefighters contained it.

A cause of the fire is under investigation, but police say there are no signs it was intentionally set.
