Dozens of wigs donated to local women battling cancer: Rick Williams reports during Action News at noon on January 11, 2018.

CENTER CITY -- Nearly two dozen wigs were donated in Center City to help local women battling cancer.

The high-end, high-style wigs were created by local hair and wig stylists.

The wigs were given to the Fight Like a Girl foundation at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center.

Experts say these wigs can help give women a sense of beauty and confidence as they continue their cancer treatment.

"We want our patients to feel good, look good and provide and participate in any activities that they want," said Dr. Edith Mitchell, clinical professor at Jefferson University.

The nearly 24 wigs donated put organizers one step closer to hitting their goal of 100 wigs.
