Students from Chesterbrook Academy released thousands of tiny lady bugs in Washington Square Park

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Some students know more about protecting Mother Earth after a special earth day celebration in Center City.

Tiny students from Chesterbrook Academy preschools released thousands of tiny lady bugs in Washington Square Park.

The students wore homemade paper antenae to look the part.

Its a way to help the children learn to respect and take care of nature.

Ladybugs eat other insects that harm gardens and trees.
