WILLINGBORO, N.J. (WPVI) -- Jeri Mughal understandably gets emotional when she talks about her late husband, Tariq.

"We just had a baby, she was 7 months when he passed and she's never going to know him," she said.

Jeri said the night of Monday December 26, 2016 started out pretty normal. She said they put their three kids to bed and then began some final preparations for their trip to Disneyland the next morning.

"I was packing," recalled Jeri. "He said 'I'll be right back' and then that was it."

At 2:30 a.m. on December 27, police were called to the first block of Genesee Lane in Willingboro, Burlington County for a shooting.

When they arrived they found the body of 31-year-old Tariq.

"I don't understand what could have been so terrible that someone would want to take his life," said Jeri.

"It's just a nightmare, I wish I could wake up and it's not real," she said.

Jeri said it physically pains her that Tariq won't see their children grow-up.

"He loved them, they were his greatest accomplishment. All he wanted was to see them go to college that's all we talked about," she said.

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to call 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
