La Salle University lays off nearly 2 dozen employees

OLNEY (WPVI) -- The first female president of La Salle University, who has only been in the position for two months, has announced nearly two dozen layoffs.

President Colleen Hanycz says she wasn't aware of the extent of the financial burden the Olney college faces, until she took office.

23 LaSalle employees will lose their jobs. Faculty members will not be among them.

The university predicts a 2015 freshman class of 725 students - well below what La Salle thought it would be.
