Mom won't let son accept school award for perfect attendance
Mom won't let son accept school award for perfect attendance: Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on July 14, 2017.

LONDON (WPVI) -- Perfect attendance is an award many students strive for and their parents boast about.

But there's one mom blogger whose latest post is going viral as she explains why her son won't be accepting his 100% attendance award.

The London mom says his reward comes with a fun night planned by the school, but she's not allowing him to attend.

She says in her family, they don't reward luck nor do they shame for ill health or sickness.

She says he has no control over his attendance because she's the one who brings him to school.

And finally, he won't be in the classroom the final week because they're taking a family trip.

She says: "The messages we are sending to our kids when we reward attendance is wrong for so many reasons."
