SEWELL, N.J. (WPVI) -- A science teacher at Monongahela Middle School in Sewell, New Jersey learned just how special he is to his students and fellow teachers.

Mark Enders was honored Friday morning as a Phillies Teacher All-Star.

Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp, along with the Phillie Phanatic and Ballgirls, attended a surprise assembly to give Enders some much-deserved all-star treatment.

Enders is currently fighting his second bout of cancer.

Despite that, he has continued his dedication to his students in the classroom.

The Phillies learned about Enders through an essay written by fellow teacher, Gregory Schofield.

Enders is one of ten teachers recognized by the Phillies as part of Teacher Appreciation Week.

The group will also be honored Friday night during the Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park.
