PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Students at Temple University will be paying more for tuition in the next academic year.

On Tuesday, the school's board of trustees approved a 2.8 percent increase in undergraduate base tuition for Pennsylvania residents and non-residents.

Tuition will be just over $14,000 for in-state students and about $24,000 for out-of-state students.

The university says salaries and benefits are the main reasons for the hike.
