OGUNQUIT, Maine -- Officials in Maine confirm actress Valerie Harper remains in a local hospital as a precaution after falling ill before last night's performance of "Nice Work If You Can Get It."

Harper, 75, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013.

"She is resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for observation for the time being. The audiences and all of us here at the Playhouse are greatly enjoying our time with Valerie here in Ogunquit, and we are encouraged that she is feeling better," Bradford T. Kenney, Executive Artistic Director at Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine, said.

Harper has been performing in the production as Millicent Winter, along with Sally Struthers as Duchess Estonia Dulworth. She only appears in the second act. Her performances are scheduled to run through August 15.

Harper has had a number of roles on Broadway, the big screen and TV. She's best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

The actress beat lung cancer in 2009. Harper said earlier this year that the brain cancer has not spread, but she had not been cured.
