HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES -- Actor David Duchovny, best known for his roles in "The X-Files" and "Californiacation," received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday.

The four-time Emmy-nominated actor became the 2,572nd star on Hollywood Boulevard, just one day after the premiere of a six-episode run of "The X-Files."

"It's a strange feeling, I have no idea what kind of movies this place shows," Duchovny joked during the ceremony in front of the Fox Theatre. "I have a bad feeling."

Duchovny, 55, is a New York City native. He received a bachelor's degree from Princeton and a master's degree in English literature from Yale.

He was studying for a doctorate when he left to pursue a career in acting.
