STUDIO CITY, Calif. -- "Django Unchained" actress Daniele Watts claims she was accosted by LAPD officers who mistook her for a prostitute.

Watts says she was handcuffed Thursday in Studio City. Officers said they detained Watts and her companion after a citizen called and reported that two people were "involved in indecent exposure" in a silver Mercedes.

The actress was released after police determined no crime was committed.

Watts said she was guilty only of showing affection in public, according to a post on her Facebook page. The actress, who had apparently refused to show identification to officers, posted a picture of herself sobbing next to an LAPD officer.

Her male companion wrote on Facebook that because she is black and he is white, onlookers assumed them to be a prostitute and a client.

An internal investigation has been launched by the LAPD.
