PHLADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Singer Mike Posner's concert at Kutztown University in Berks County has been canceled, but officials say it has nothing to do with the current faculty strike affecting the school and 13 other Pennsylvania state universities.

The university says the reason for the cancelation of the Thursday night concert was unforeseen circumstances.

Posner made the announcement on Twitter, saying, "Beautiful people of Kutztown....due to circumstances beyond my control, today's show has been canceled. I hope to be back, don't worry."

Posner's hits include "Cooler Than Me" and "I Took a Pill in Ibiza."

The concert featuring Posner and special guest Sinclair was to take place at the Schaeffer Auditorium.

The university says a make-up date is not expected.

The Kutztown University Student Government Board says cash refunds will be provided at the Campus Store.

University officials tell Action News the concert's cancelation is not related to the current strike by the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties.

The union represents more than 5,000 faculty and coaches from Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester universities of Pennsylvania.

The state university system had informed students they should show up for class unless their individual schools indicated otherwise. With no new systemwide guidance coming on Day 2 of the walkout, the schools began providing their own instructions.

Kutztown is asking students to report to class at least until Friday.
