'Sopranos' creator finally reveals what happened to Tony Soprano
On June 10, 2007, the premium cable-watching world was caught in uproar as the series finale of "The Sopranos" abruptly cut to black. Many subscribers frantically rushed to the back of their television consoles, wondering if their cable box accidentally became unplugged. But then the final credits came on screen: Associate Producer Mickie Reuster. That's it, "The Sopranos" was over.
That sense of confusion and worry quickly transformed into anger, as fans were no closer to finding out the fate of Tony Soprano. Intense online discussion and fan theories populated the "Sorpanos" cannon, with extensive, well-written essays arguing on whether Tony was dead or alive. But still, the global mafia-loving TV fanatics have been in the dark for over 7 years on what happened to their favorite wise guy Tony Soprano.
Until today.
In a story published by Vox, David Chase finally reveals after all those years that Tony, is in fact...
ALIVE!
Yes, despite all those final season clues and mistaken foreshadowings, Chase revealed that "No. No (Tony Soprano) isn't (dead.)" This is a pretty remarkable reveal, considering "The Sopranos" was deliberately ambiguous and never easy to read.

UPDATE: Leslee Dart, a representative for David Chase, released the statement below.
"A journalist for Vox misconstrued what David Chase said in their interview. To simply quote David as saying," Tony Soprano is not dead," is inaccurate. There is a much larger context for that statement and as such, it is not true.
As David Chase has said numerous times on the record, 'Whether Tony Soprano is alive or dead is not the point.' To continue to search for this answer is fruitless. The final scene of 'The Sopranos' raises a spiritual question that has no right or wrong answer."
