October 2, 2015 -- The Philly Pops are paying homage to one of the country's most timeless musicians with a concert entitled Sinatra: A Centennial Celebration, and Pops Conductor and Music Director Michael Krajewski says it's just what the name suggests, "a musical celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Frank Sinatra; we're going to hear all Sinatra, some of his greatest hits, all the songs that are so closely associated with him."

The show is so popular, it quickly sold out and the Philly Pops added a 4th show. Krajewski says it's the first time they've had to do so in more than a decade. "We're thrilled to know that Philadelphia shares our love and excitement for the music of Frank Sinatra."

The Philly Pops will be performing the timeless hits accompanied by special guest vocalist Michael Andrew.

"He's a wonderful talent and a great singer," says Krajewski. "He loves the music of that era. He delivers a very genuine authentic performance of this music."

"This is like a boyhood dream for me. When I saw Frank Sinatra on television as a kid, I was always mesmerized by his style and the wonderful songs," says Andrew, "and that swinging, cool style of Frank Sinatra was always just the ultimate to me."

The music will take audiences back in time to the Sinatra Era.

"There's something for everybody and everybody's going to love to hear that body of work represented with a fabulous orchestra," Andrews promises, and Krajewski says the concert will be all-encompassing.

"We're going to really try to cover the length and breadth of Sinatra's life as a musician and performer. We're going to be going all the way back to his earliest days."
