VIDEO: Wheel of Fortune hopeful waited 10 years
Sandra Jones of Philadelphia has waited 10 years to try out to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune and, this weekend, she got her chance.

Sandra Jones of Philadelphia has waited 10 years to try out to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune and, this weekend, she got her chance.

"I've been waiting 10 years," Jones told Marty Lublin, the traveling host of the Wheel of Fortune Wheelmobile, at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.

Jones then showed her enthusiasm and excitement in a dance that rivals any Wheel of Fortune bonus round celebration.

Jones, who has appeared on Family Feud, Deal or No Deal, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and Price is Right, tells Action News she considers herself to be a game show junkie.

"I love game shows...I would be awesome because I have what it takes. My husband tells me all the time 'you are game show material,'" Jones said.

Host Lublin along with self-proclaimed 'traveling Vanna' Heidi Jackson search the country looking for the best players on the Wheel of Fortune Wheelmobile.

"Of course, we look for good game players, people who call out logical letters, people who can speak in a loud, clear voice, that's always good. But what we really want is that natural enthusiasm and energy," Jackson said.

Lubin says they are looking for contestants who have a fire to them.

"Most importantly, have that fire, have that passion, have that excitement. We want them to stand out," Lubin said.

Another one of the hopefuls was Joe Parisi of Philadelphia.

"I've been a Wheel watcher since I was a little kid, so this was really exciting," Parisi said.

Those who make the cut this weekend still need to pass a final round of auditions.

"They administer a written test, it's not very easy, but if they do well in this step and they do well with our contestant department, then we'll be back in another month or two and they're going to be on the show," David Strathearn of Wheel of Fortune said.

Valerie and Paul Seinder of Toms River were nervous and excited for their big shot.

"He knew every single puzzle from the first round. Every single puzzle," Valerie said.

"But I tell her the minute you get up there you don't know. You're in front of different people, it's hard," Paul said.

As for Jones, who host Lubin described in a tweet as one of the "energetic, enthusiastic, and fun contestants rocking the stage," she hopes to finally make it to the big stage of Wheel of Fortune.

However, making it on the Wheelmobile stage was an accomplishment in itself, as she yelled to her husband, "I made it, baby."
