EGG HARBOR TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A 7-year-old from Egg Harbor Township has turned an unfortunate medical condition into her first business venture, with the help of her grandmother.

Her name is Sarai Jackson. She's a vivacious second grader.

"I want to help little kids who have cancer," she said.

Sarai doesn't have cancer but two years ago her family noticed her hair was thinning, her eyebrows and lashes were shedding.

She was diagnosed with alopecia which causes hair loss.

"I was afraid all of it was going to come out - afraid kids gonna make fun of me," said Sarai.

"My concern was that she was able to function in second grade, get her education and not be bullied," said Johnice Jackson, grandmother.

Sarai's grandmother came up with the idea to create hats with individual themes and 100 percent human hair.

It's the 'Kissy Face Kollection' - named for what the family calls Sarai.

There are Kissy Face hats with blonde hair for the beach.

There are also Kissy Face hats for girls who like sports, for daughters of military families, for bikers and even for dog lovers.

"You know why it's special for kids? They want to feel happy and feel great and feel beautiful with their hats like me," said Sarai.

Earlier this month, grandmom and granddaughter attended a business fair, hosted by Shore Medical Center.

Kissy Face Kollections was signed immediately at the event and the hats will soon be available in the hospital's gift shop.

As for the pint-size businesswoman, she says it feels great to have her first business.

They are now working to create a website.
