Cheap Chic Weddings hosted its 12th annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest on Thursday in New York City, where models showed off their bridal creations. The entries incorporate toilet paper using tape, glue or sewing.

The founders of the contest said the elegant entries get more impressive every year.

"They genuinely surprise us and make choosing winners harder every year!" said Susan Bain, one of the co-founders of Cheap Chic Weddings.

The entries were as diverse as the dresses that can be found in a bridal shop, incorporating everything from lace to veils to a detachable skirt. They were judged based on creativity, originality, beauty, workmanship and the use of toilet paper. The grand prize went to 25-year-old Van Tran, a part-time designer in Brooklyn.
