VIDEO: Save on back-to-school at outlets
Kids of all ages want to look their best when headed back to school. And most parents want to save money.

LIMERICK, Pa. (WPVI) -- Kids of all ages want to look their best when headed back to school. And most parents want to save money.

That's one of the reasons, it makes sense to check out outlet stores for back-to-school shopping.

Keri Branch of the Philadelphia Premium Outlets says a few trendy items can update your kids' look -- no matter what their age.

For elementary-schoolers, denim and layering are "in."

Branch says, "We're seeing a lot of trends for the elementary school kids, including denim, which you're going to be finding in skirts, shorts, rompers, short dresses for the girls, jean jackets, all that kind of stuff. And then, for the guys, we're finding fun, really graphic t-shirts, fun plaid shirts in different colors, to really mix it up and make them look good for back to school."

With a 50% off sale at Gap, along with coupons from the Outlets' VIP Shoppers' club, you can get a girl's $97 outfit for $41 and a boy's $70 outfit for $33.

Middle-schoolers will also be showing lots of layers -- with bedazzled sweatshirts for girls, and plaid shirts for guys, but with more of a buttoned-up look than the younger kids.

One middle-school girl's outfit from J. Crew retails for $141, but is outlet-priced at just $79. And a boy's outfit from Joe's Jeans and Gap is 51% off, $56 instead of $114.

As for the high-schoolers, Branch says, "It's definitely a put-togethre look for the older, high-schoolers. And I think that mentally, they're getting ready for college, so I think they're experimenting with those more mature styles."

A high-school girl's outfit and accessories are outlet-priced at $209, versus $386 retail. And the guy's outfit is 50% off -- $88, instead of $164 retail.
