Commonwealth Ciders is the only company brewing cider in the city of Philadelphia.
It's a trend that a lot of people are going towards.
Bill Barton, Proprietor of Commonwealth Ciders says, "I've seen a huge trend in ciders."
Cider attracts both wine and beer drinkers with its light body and refreshing flavor.
It even has health benefits since its gluten free and Commonwealth's brand has only one gram of sugar.
Barton says, "Yeah so you can you can drink 23 of them and be under your recommended daily allowance of sugar for the day.
That's right, it's not bad and good on the diet too.
"Traditional Dry" is their original flavor and they've added a "Gregarious Ginger."
"This is spicy though. It's delicious with foods, especially Asian foods," said Barton.
Their third variety features fruity notes.
"It's just not raspberry cider, its Razzberet, it's kind of addicting," says Barton.
They have free tastings on Saturdays. And, they're adding two new flavors, black cherry and blueberry.
Commonwealth shares a facility with the Philadelphia Brewing Company in the Kensington section and with a 40,000 square foot space, there is plenty of room to grow as the cider boom continues.
