Giant recalls granola bars due to Listeria concerns

Giant has voluntarily recalled granola bars due to a potential they could be contaminated with Listeria.

The recall affects the following product:

GIANT/MARTIN'S Sweet & Salty Almond Chewy Granola Bars, 12 pack/7.4 oz, UPC 068826709280, with best by date DEC 07 16 and lot code 2151607200.

Giant has received no reports of anyone getting sick, but is taking this precautionary measure.

"Out of an abundance of caution this product is being removed because it was processed by our supplier TreeHouse Private Brands on the same production line as sunflower seeds potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes," a message on Giant's website reads.

The company says customers who have purchased the granola bars should discard them and bring their receipt to the store for a full refund.

This announcement follows a recall by TreeHouse Foods.
