The average Super Bowl watcher will eat 2,400 calories - and that's just during the game alone.
Forget 'deflate-gate,' some are calling Super Bowl Sunday 'inflate-gate' because chowing down on nachos, pizza, wings, French fries and beer will likely inflate your waistline.
The average watcher will eat 2,400 calories during the game.
Dr. Charlie Seltzer of 'Lean for Life,' says if you are otherwise healthy, four hours of over-indulging won't make a difference in the long run.
"So if you live a healthy lifestyle 364 days a year so on Super Bowl Sunday you want wings and beer, that's going to be fine," said Dr. Seltzer.
But if you have medical problems, struggle with your weight or don't want to gain weight - he suggests a different approach.
"I don't think it's realistic to think you're not going to eat anything spread out at Super Bowl but moderating portions is the best way of doing things," said Dr. Seltzer.
So at the very least, keep a mental list of what you're eating.
It also helps if you eat a healthy snack before the big game.
And filling up on veggies is always a healthy option.
You can also make your favorite Super Bowl foods using a healthier recipe and that will help cut down on calories and fat as well.
