Pregnant woman with Zika was first signal of Miami outbreak

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (WPVI) -- Meanwhile, the situation in Puerto Rico is getting worse.

Zika is an epidemic there.

Health officials are reporting at least 1,500 new cases of Zika every week and hundreds of pregnant women have been infected.

But there is some distrust when it comes to the U.S. federal government stepping in to help.

Many oppose aerial spraying for mosquitoes there.

Again most cases of Zika are mild or with no symptoms.

The biggest concern is for pregnant women as the virus can cause a serious birth defect.
