A local DJ's story may help keep you motivated.

The #6abcGetsFit Challenge continues, and whether you are looking to just eat healthier or to lose weight, a local DJ's story may help keep you motivated.

If you listen to Wired 96.5's 'Big Philly Show' in the morning you probably know "Chunky". But what you may not know is Chunky is not chunky anymore.

In the past year's he's lost 221 pounds!

His enthusiasm can be contagious... especially when talking about his transformation.

"I just feel great, it's just crazy," he said.

It all started in June of 2013 with his fiance Kristen. He started to think about the future and knew he had to get healthy.

He explains, "It was very hard. I realized a lot of my problem was simply bad choices and just eating to eat, not even being hungry."

So he made a lot of changes... literally overnight.

"We had a final meal, if you will, on June 16th and then I really hit it on Monday and I made up my own diet and just kind of stuck with that."

His diet includes fruits, vegetables, lean protein, whole grains and lots of water.

He cut out sugar, salt and white carbs.

He didn't weigh himself until six months later - that's when he realized he dropped 101 pounds.

"I called my mom, my fiance, I called my boss. He's like, 'I don't care but cool.' It was so cool."

And today he's down 221 pounds.

His advice to others trying to lose weight: "Be alone. Sit in a room, go on a drive, think about it and set your mind to it. When it is your time, you'll know and you will stick to it."

He says his journey was not easy, but it was well worth it.

"It's like a second life. I know that sounds corny but it literally is," he said.

Chunky says what worked for him, won't work for everyone. So you have to do what's best for you.

For example, he has never cheated on his diet, and says this is what keeps him from slipping.

But he says support is vital for everyone, and he offers his support to anyone who needs it or wants it.
