At 67 years old, Lisa Garrett of Haddonfield, New Jersey is training for her first triathlon.

"I really don't have a competitive bone in my body. I don't anticipate passing many people, but I just want to cross the finish line," says Linda.

She is part of a 6 member team selected to join Dr. Sanjay Gupta's "Fit Nation," a challenge to stop making excuses and get healthy.

Her goal is to finish the half mile swim, 18 mile bike ride and 4 mile run in less than 4 hours.

Linda also wants to test how far she can push her 67-year old body.

Christopher Bell is the Owner of Bell's Bodies. He says, "There's nobody more dedicated to their fitness journey than Linda Garrett. Nobody is allowed to use the age card at Bell's Bodies because of Linda."

Linda, a semi-retired nurse says she's doing it to try something new.

"When you retire, you kind of have to fight inertia. I'm used to being busy and exercise was part of my routine and I just pushed it a little further," she says.

She is by far the oldest on her team. The rest are in their 40's. The race is September 20th in Malibu, California.

Bell says, "We will be watching "Fit Nation" and rooting her on. And with any luck, a few of us are going out to Malibu."
