BLUE BELL, Pa. (WPVI) -- The government has approved a new drug for ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Neos Therapeutics, which has offices in Blue Bell, got the FDA's OK for Adzenys XR-ODT.

Adzenys is the first ADHD drug which dissolves on the tongue in 30 seconds, a possible plus for kids.

Adzenys will be a competitor to Ritalin and Adderall, which are pills or capsules.

About 5 per cent of children, and 2.5% of adults have ADHD.
