The number of flu cases reported to the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows the number of flu cases dropped from the week before.
But, health officials say the overall flu activity is still widespread in not only Pennsylvania, but also New Jersey and Delaware.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says hospitalizations and deaths from flu complications continue to rise in the elderly, and the very young.
Children under five are one of the groups with the greatest risk.
"Young kids may not have seen certain strains of flu, so the first time somebody is exposed to a specific strain, it can be more severe," said Dr. Camille Sabella.
If you have not been vaccinated, you should still get a flu shot.
It gives you some protection against the flu strain going around, and it can protect you if we get a repeat of last year, when a second strain made the rounds in March and April.
