VIDEO: Mommy and me, plus NEW 6abcGetsFit challenge
Finding time to workout isn't always easy, especially for a new mom.

Once women are cleared to exercise after having a baby many find it's difficult to get going again, or it's just hard to find the time. So local trainers came up with a fun solution.

They come with sneakers, strollers, babies, and toys to get back in shape and meet other moms.

Trainer Kasey Manwaring of Goals Fit started the Mommy and Me class in Roxborough to help new moms fit in fitness.

Their kids aren't just welcome - they're part of the workout!

Jackie Serra tells us, "She incorporates a lot of things with the kids, so it's easy to do. Even if one runs away, she'll run after them. Or if they're crying she'll take care of them."

For Rachael Balascak, who is a graphic artist at Action News, it means more time with her daughter Audrey without having to skip her workout.

And the kids seem to like class just as much as their moms.

"When we do the stroller run around the track and get to integrate her with some of the workout, she just absolutely loves it," Rachel said.

Erin O'Donnell tells us, "We bring a bag full of toys, they all play together he loves to run around and he can now count backwards from listening to Kasey. So it's really funny."

O'Donnell says it took time, but now that Owen is almost two, she's back in great shape.

Kasey says it may be playtime for the kids... but not for the moms.

"A ton of cardio, a ton of lower body and upper body strengthening and then we always end with core to kind of tighten that tummy back up."

This class is every Thursday at 10:15 a.m. on the track of Roxborough High School.

Also today, we are launching our new #6abcGetsFit challenge for the month of August. It is to pledge to do strength training exercises at least twice a week.

Building more muscle mass is good for your bones and it will also help speed up your metabolism, among other benefits.

If you have diabetes it can help control your blood sugar level.

So take the challenge and share it with your friends and family. And post pictures to social media using #6abcGetsFit.
