A new, nationwide health initiative has given Philadelphia high marks for quality of life.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A new, nationwide health initiative has given Philadelphia high marks for quality of life.

The CityHealth Initiative rated the country's 40 largest cities, and Philly was given a silver medal.

The city earned top marks for its policies on transportation safety, and healthy food accessibility.

The report cited alcohol and tobacco sales control as two areas of improvement.

Only five cities were rated higher than Philadelphia: Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Los Angeles.
