Researchers say eating more fish can ease rheumatoid arthritis pain
Researchers say eating more fish can ease rheumatoid arthritis pain. Rick Williams reports during Action News at 5 p.m. on June 21, 2017.

Turns out a little more fish could make a big difference for sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis.

In a test with nearly 200 RA patients, doctors found that those eating fish more than twice a week had less joint pain than those eating it less frequently.

And the more fish they ate, the less joint pain and swelling they reported.

Rheumatoid arthritis attacks the joints and over time causes permanent damage. The lead researcher says the fish had a big effect - about one-third the anti-inflammatory power of a common RA drug.
